Software Engineering Management


Provides students with an understanding of modern software engineering processes to better equip them in managing software-intensive projects in a wide variety of project scenarios.

Software lifecycle models, such as Waterfall, Prototyping, Incremental and Iterative approaches, are covered. The management of risk, requirements and reviews in the software process is examined, as are approaches to testing, test management and the role of metrics in improving software process quality.

This subject examines several quality management frameworks found in IS settings, including CMM and CMMI. Topics include quality engineering, process maturity, metrics, quality management systems, people quality, quality standards, quality audits, quality reviews, testing and defect management.
