The course will be given by the Department of Technology and Society.
The
Department of Technology and Society has long been active in research
and education in road traffic safety. It has a multidisciplinary
composition with expertise in civil engineering, psychology and
sociology. The department offers graduate courses in Traffic Planning,
Traffic Engineering and Highway Engineering, as well as specially
designed courses for practitioners. The Department of Technology and
Society is in charge of the design, content and execution of the
training programme.
The teaching staff has long teaching
experience in traffic related subjects for MSc-students and practioners.
Professor Christer Hydén is the leader of the research group at the
Department of Technology and Society in the traffic safety research
area. Main areas of interest: Methods and techniques for risk
assessment, theories for communication between road-user, integrated
safety programs for entire jurisdictions, including the organizational
aspects, the effects of safety measures with special reference to the
safety of unprotected roadusers.
PROFESSOR ANDRÁS VÁRHELYI´s main
areas of interests are: Traffic safety management, Speed management,
Traffic surveys, Black-spot analysis, Behavioural studies, Road safety
measures. Field experience from working in developing countries.
PROFESSOR
CHRISTER HYDÉN Leader of the research group at the Department of
Technology and society in the traffic safety research area. Main areas
of interest: Methods and techniques for risk assessment, Theories for
communication between road users, integrated safety programs for entire
jurisdictions, including the organisational aspects, The effects of
safety measures with special reference to the safety of unprotected
road-users.

administration of the programme, including the application process and
