How to get to the course?

- Location

Lund is situated in the south of Sweden close to Malmö, the 3rd biggest city of Sweden, and to Copenhagen, capital of Denmark. For information about Sweden you can visit http://www.sweden.se or www.visitsweden.com (both of them have information in several languages and the later includes practical information on travel arrangements).

Travel arrangements
At the following web addresses you can find plane tickets to Sturup or Kastrup, www.flysnowflake.com, www.scandinavian.net, http://wizzair.com, www.blue1.com. These are of course only a few suggestions and we encourage you to compare prices. You are free to look for different arrangements.

Keep in mind that when planning for your travel to Lund you should either arrive in Kastrup, airport of Copenhagen (Denmark) or Sturup airport of Malmö. From Kastrup you take the train to Lund (Sweden) which takes around 40minutes. It’s possible to buy train tickets to Lund C (C as in Central station) at the airport. For more information on train departures and prices please refer to www.skanetrafiken.se The train station is directly connected by an escalator to the Kastrup airport where you can take the train to Lund Central.

From Sturup you take the bus “Flygbussarna”, which has the departures related to the flight arrivals and takes approximately 40 min to Lund. You buy the ticket on the bus. For bus schedule and price information see www.flygbussarna.se/

Visa
If required, you are responsible for obtaining required visas. Please consult the nearest Swedish embassy/consulate.To receive a visa can take up to three months, which is why we urge you to apply well in advance.

Living arrangements
The programme includes a single room with bathroom at a student dorm and a meal allowance that you will receive on the first course day.

If you intend to arrive earlier or leave later than the course dates, you have to arrange the accommodation on your own. You can contact the Youth Hostel in Lund at telephone number +46 (0)46 142820.

The student rooms are situated in Lund University student housing areas which are located within 20-30 minutes walk from the centre of Lund. All rooms are for single occupancy and are organized in “corridors” of 10-12 rooms. Males and females live in the same “corridor”. The rooms are fully furnished but you need to bring your own sheets and towels. Pillow and blanket will be provided. Cleaning of your room is your responsibility. Your room will be inspected after your departure and if it is not found in good order or if there should be any damages, you will be charged for the cleaning and/or repair.

Students usually prepare their own meals in the corridor kitchens and the kitchens all have cooking facilities, including microwave, toaster etc. There are supermarkets close to all student housing areas. Rent includes use of laundry facilities, electricity, water and heating.

More information will be sent to all selected participants.
