Inspera: Basic course for teachers

During this course, we will mainly be looking at question types and marking. The main focus will be on how to create assignments and the different types of questions available. We will look at the various settings and customisations that can be made. We will also briefly mention the settings that administrators configure when creating an exam session. We will also look at the marking view and how you, as a marker, award marks and can add comments. We will also look at what the student sees once marking is complete.

No pre-registration is required, but to use Inspera you must first log in to Lucat and apply for access rights in Inspera. You should apply for the role of administrator if you usually act as course director for courses using Inspera exams. If you are only going to create the exam content and mark the exams, it is sufficient to apply for user access rights.

How to apply for access right

1. Go to ‘My access rights’
2. Click on ‘Apply for access right’ on the right-hand side
3. Select ‘IT service’ under ‘Access type’
4. Click on ‘Continue’
5. Select ‘Educational support’ under ‘IT service group’
6. Select ‘Inspera’ under ‘IT service’
7. Select ‘Administrator/User’ under ‘Access right’
8. Search for your certifying unit (department) and add it
9. Tick the box to approve
10. Click ‘Apply’
