In an eMeeting participants are able to see and talk to each other, show presentations and use breakout rooms for discussions in smaller groups. Lectures, presentations or instructions can be recorded and published in your digital learning environment.
Zoom and Teams
Lund university offers LU Zoom and Teams. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, functionality and performance for both LU Zoom and Teams has improved to match the new requirements.
Lund University has an instance of Zoom that is separated from the commercial version. Here you may:
- hold meetings with up to 300 participants.
- schedule meetings.
- create safe meetings using passcode or exclusively for LU participants.
- share your screen.
- record your meeting and download it to your computer.
- use a virtual background.
- interact with participants with whiteboards and annotations.
- create breakout room for discussions in smaller groups.
Everyone in the meeting can use microphone and webcam.
Special versions of Zoom
If you are planning a session with more than 300 participants, we have Large meeting licenses allowing 500 participants. It works precisely like your usual meeting, allowing microphone and camera for all participants. LU also has Zoom Webinar 1000 licenses. The Webinar license differs from ordinary meetings in that attendees are not seen and can interact only through chat or Q&A whereas youcan have a panel of up to 100 active persons with microphone and camera rights. Webinar licenses are frequently used for doctoral dissertation defenses and public lectures.

Teams is a social application provided through Office 365. In Teams you can create channels, chat, arrange eMeetings, share files and much more. Teams meetings is integrated in Canvas and can be used by both teachers and students in your Canvas course.
