Inspera is a tool that is mostly used to create and write digital exams on campus, but also remotely. On this page, you will learn what you can do with the tool, how to access it, and how we recommend you work with it.

With Inspera, you can

  • create exams with many different question types, including self-correcting questions
  • choose whether students should take the exam on a locked or unlocked computer
  • grade exams in a convenient manner
  • have multiple teachers grade the same exam simultaneously
  • transfer results from Inspera to Ladok
  • use plagiarism control with the help of Inspera Originality.

Students are anonymous during the exam and assessment. After the exam, the teacher chooses whether students can see their answers, results and any comments.

How to access Inspera

Always take a course in Inspera before you start using the tool. You can find courses via this link:

To log in to Inspera, you must first apply for authorisation via Lucat.

What level of access should you have?

There are three levels of access to choose from:

  1. user authorisation
  2. administrator authorisation
  3. unit administrator authorisation.

The first and lowest level, user authorisation, is automatically approved and the account is activated within approximately 15 minutes. This allows you to create assignment groups, assess exams and be an exam invigilator, but you cannot create any exam sessions.

The second level, administrator authorisation, gives you user authorisation and the ability to create exam sessions. This authorisation must be approved by a catalogue manager (katalogansvarig) at your workplace.

The third and highest authorisation level gives you, in addition to all other authorisations, the ability to view all exam sessions created at your unit. This authorisation must also be approved by a catalogue manager.

Apply for authorisation

To apply for authorisation, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Lucat.

Log in to Lucat – lucat.lu.se

  2. Go to My authorisations and click on Apply for authorisation.
  3. Select Authorisation type: IT service.
  4. Then IT service group: Educational support.
  5. And finally IT service: Inspera.
  6. Then select User, Administrator or Unit administrator under authorisation.
  7. Search for your certificate unit (institution) and add it.
  8. Tick the box to confirm your approval.
  9. Click Apply.

The workflow we recommend

Once you have completed a course and applied for eligibility, you can start working in the programme. Here is a workflow that we recommend you follow:

  1. The teacher creates an assignment group (a collection of questions) in Inspera and shares it with the administrator.
  2. The administrator creates an exam session manually in Inspera or via Ladok integration and links the assignment group to it. All settings are also made here, for example, whether the exam should be locked or not.
  3. Now you can add other people who have a role in the exam session, such as assessors and invigilators.

Reduce the risk of errors with Ladok integration in Inspera

If you create the exam session using Ladok integration, you can transfer the results from Inspera to Ladok with a single click.

Why is this beneficial? It saves time since you don't need to enter the data manually. It also reduces the risk of errors. To learn how Ladok integration works, watch this in-depth instructional video:
