Ouriginal (Urkund)

Ouriginal is a digital tool for text comparison that helps you as a teacher or supervisor detect plagiarism. You can use Ouriginal when creating or managing an assignment in Canvas. Here you can read more about the tool and how to start using it. Please note! Ouriginal will be replaced by Inspera Originality on October 31 and will no longer be available.

With a text comparison tool such as Ouriginal, you can easily

  • check all student work submitted in Assignments
  • detect deliberate or unintentional text manipulation and plagiarism
  • create analysis reports of the text comparison

Ouriginal in Canvas

Ouriginal is integrated into Canvas and was previously called Urkund. When logged into Canvas, you do not need any other account than the teacher role for your course in Canvas. In Canvas, you will then receive information about how Ouriginal has checked the information via the overview in assessments or individually via the Speedgrader feedback tool.

Here is a brief guide in Canvas about Ouriginal (in Swedish) – canvas.education.lu.se
