Here you will find recommendations for four resources in English on assessment and generative AI in higher education. These consist of an on-campus course, a digital course on Canvas, and two books. These resources can provide inspiration and support as you seek to develop your teaching and assessment methods.

The Rethinking Assessment course (AHU and the Unit for Educational Services)

The course Rethinking Assessment provides an in-depth understanding of assessment and examination in higher education. During the course, participants engage in seminars, structured discussions and their own project work. The course is aimed at teaching staff at Lund University who wish to develop their assessment skills or prepare for the role of course coordinator or examiner.

The Canvas course Generative AI Tools in Education at LU

The course Generative AI Tools in Education at LU provides an introduction to generative AI in education. It is designed to help university lecturers understand and discuss AI tools and their potential use in teaching, assessment and student support. The course consists of five modules with examples and activities. It addresses both opportunities and ethical challenges and provides guidance on how generative AI can be integrated into one’s own teaching.

The book GenAI in Higher Education: Redefining Teaching and Learning (2026)

The book provides practical guidance on how university lecturers and other staff can select, use and evaluate generative AI in teaching, learning, assessment and student support. You can read about the opportunities and challenges of AI, with a focus on accessibility, efficiency and ethics. The book also contains reflection exercises and concrete examples.
